Your story is your legacy.
Your story is
your legacy.
Together we can bring it to life.
Phase One:
Interview with the Ghostwriter
This is a free, no obligation meeting, in person if possible, or by phone. This is where we tease out the book you really should be writing, not necessarily the one you initially think you want to write. I will have done some research on you, your audience, and comparable books. You will come away with a clear understanding of exactly what you need to do to become a successful published author, who your true audience is, how your book will help you accomplish your goals and fulfill your wish list, and what all of this will cost, financially and time-wise. This is a reality check that will show you the way forward. If nothing else, you will come out with a real understanding of what it takes to write, publish and market a book today—and how to use it to the most powerful effect.
Phase Two:
The Writer for Hire Agreement
Assuming you decide to move forward with me or Kai as your ghostwriter, I send you a detailed Writer for Hire Agreement. This document spells out what your book is all about, with a temporary working title and subtitle. It gives you a timeframe for completion and a payment schedule as we send you chapters for your consideration. Once you send in the first payment, we begin a two month period of interviews. After some 8 to 10 hours of taped interviews we give you a Table of Contents with brief summaries of what is covered in each chapter. We now have a roadmap for writing the book.
Phase Three:
Deep into the Book, Chapter by Chapter
Over the next six to eight months on average—the timeframe does depend to a good extent on your ability to provide feedback on chapters in a timely fashion—we complete the book. During this time we also come up with a marketing plan. It is never too early to make sure you have a good website that attracts visitors, that your social media profile is growing, and that you are well-positioned for success. Again, we go back to that wish list. Do you want to tell your story to the world at large or to distinct audiences? Do you want media attention or a TEDx talk, a higher-paying clientele or paid corporate speeches? This is all part of the pre-planning strategies that go into the birthing and successful promotion of your book.
Phase Four:
Publish Your Book, Ebook and Audiobook
What is the best way for your book to be published? We can help you take it out to the world of literary agents, since we work with several top agents. We can take your book through the entire self-publishing process—an increasingly popular and effective choice today, even with many best-selling authors who would not have considered self-publishing in years past. Another benefit of Katz Creative’s “one stop shop” is that we have a PR arm, and can get you traditional and social media coverage that will help put you in front of your preferred audiences.
Your book is a door opener: your entry into a higher level of respect for your author-ity.
