Ghostwriting
Your journey to authorship begins with a complimentary meeting, in person or by phone, so we can get to know you, your story and your wish list—what you want your book to do for you. Once we are “on the same page” so to speak, we send you a detailed Writer for Hire Agreement, which spells everything out: a precise summary of what your book will be about, projected timeline, fee schedule for deliverable chapters, etc. The brief description of the book we have agreed that you should write includes giving you a working title and subtitle.
The initial payment, due on signing the Agreement, covers the first two months of interviews and the creation of a detailed Table of Contents, which becomes our roadmap for moving forward. Fees for collaborating with you in the creation of your book—in your voice—will vary, based on what materials you already have that can possibly make the process easier, and several other factors we will discuss that are unique to your project. Our intention is to always make you not just pleased but delighted with the end results of your time, effort and financial outlay.
BookiniTM
Size does matter—in a good way. Today less can be more: you don’t necessarily need to write a 200 or 300 page book to garner the attention you want to fulfill your wish list. Your corporate or personal themed Bookini™ has the power to enhance your visibility and grow your client base and media “author-ity.”
A smaller book of 60 to 100 pages, with the right title, subtitle, cover and cover blurbs, can still establish the thought-leadership positioning that leads to speaking engagements, media coverage, and possibly to a traditional publishing deal. Your Katz Creative Bookini™ can give you the imprimatur of expertise so vital in today’s competitive marketplace. Should your objective be of a personal nature, a Bookini™ is also ideal for family histories and short memoirs.
Publishing
If you choose to self-publish (we call it entrepreneurial publishing) we will publish your book under our imprint, New Voices Press, and supply the ISBN (bar code) needed for the back cover. Entrepreneurial publishing makes good sense today in a great many cases. When we speak I will explain why so many authors—including a number of New York Times best-selling authors—are choosing to self-publish their newest books.
Website Design and Copy
We will create a book website for you and also create an Author’s Page for you on Amazon and Facebook. Our team can also design your book cover and interior graphic design—for hardcover, soft cover, Kindle, eBook and all other formats.
Book Promotion and Speaking Opportunities
When you engage us for public relations we will make sure that your book is promoted effectively in every way possible: Traditional Media. Social Media. Direct to Corporations and Organizations. We can even help you get a TEDx talk. This process starts once the book is close to being “ready for prime time.” We don’t wait for “opening day.” We begin to let your audiences know that your book is about to launch beforehand, and why they should pay attention or pre-order. Once it’s out we will of course heavily step up the media, marketing and (if relevant) advertising campaign.
Audiobooks
Turning your masterpiece into an audiobook is a great way to vastly increase your audience, and thus the impact of your book. Our audio-book producing affiliates will do this for you at a reasonable fee under our careful supervision. You can record your own book or they can help you find the right voiceover professional.
The Book Report
If you have an existing manuscript and want to know if it’s publishable, or how to make it more compelling so that it is publishable, you can sign up for a Book Report. This specific, detailed feedback on every aspect of your work (for both non-fiction and fiction) has been called “game-changing” by several dozen very satisfied authors. The $3,000 cost comes with an hour-long follow-up conversation to go over the report and to discuss every option that will allow you to move forward successfully. If we deem the book publishable and you want an agent, we can help you find one.
Additional Writing Projects
We write bylined articles, blog series, Executive and Company profiles, newsletters, sell sheets, PowerPoints and speeches. In other words, give us a challenge and we will meet it to your satisfaction, on deadline and at a fair rate.
