Judith E. Glaser
Judith E. Glaser was an American author, academic, business executive and organizational anthropologist. She was the founder and chief executive officer of Benchmark Communications, Inc., an executive coaching and management consulting company based in Boston. Glaser was also the co-founder and chairman of the Creating WE Institute, a global research organization focused on the neuroscience of “WE,” an organizational leadership, and what she calls “Conversational Intelligence” (C-IQ). Her first bestseller was: Creating WE: Change I-Thinking to WE-Thinking; Build a Healthy, Thriving Organization.
As the author emphasizes, today we are experiencing unprecedented changes. Businesses and global communities are more challenged than ever before, and there has been a sudden and profound interruption in business continuity. Ms. Glaser calls the crossroads at which we find ourselves The Edge, where our resources are few, and old approaches no longer produce successful results. At these moments of greatest challenge, we often turn away from others, trying instead to handle challenges on our own. A central premise of Creating WE is that an organization’s ability to get to its next level of greatness is determined by the climate of the culture, which is determined by the quality of relationships, which in turn depend on the quality of conversations. As Judith says, “Everything happens through conversation.”
